Jack Uldrich’s “Friday Future 15: January 24, 2020”

Posted in Future, Future 15, Futurist, Think

Think Like a Futurist: Here is my contribution to the new book, After Shock–a book commemorating Futurist Alvin Toffler’s seminal work on the topic of futurism, Future Shock. My chapter is entitled, “Needed: Ambassadors to the Future.”

Think: If the World Economic Forum is jumping on the artificial intelligence bandwagon, it might behoove you to do the same. The WEF’s new report on the topic, Empowering AI Leadership, can help.

Think Twice: The plastics industry needs to think twiceit is on some very thin ice! China Just Declared a Large-Scale War on Single Use Plastics.

Think Historically: Businesses of the past once understood this common sense idea. It’s time today’s businesses relearn it: The Company of the Future Must Do Well by Doing Good.

Think Different: Virtual reality and augmented reality are coming and they are going to require traditional industries such as the automotive industry to think different: CES 2020 Proved VR and AR are Thriving–and Moving into Automobiles.

Think Smarter: Want to think smarter? Change your mindset!

Think Harder: If you’re in the healthcare industry (in the US), you need to think harder about this development: Alexa is Now HIPAA-Compliant: It’s a Game-Changer.

Think in Questions: I especially liked question number 3: How might we fail? 4 Questions That Will Make You a Better Innovator.

Think 10X: Your eyes may soon have superpowers. This trend could grow 10X in a blink of the proverbial eye! Mojo Vision’s AR Contact Lenses.

Think Optimistically: 9 Reasons to be Optimistic in 2020

Think Faster: The future of drug discovery is about to change dramatically. If you’re in the pharmaceutical industry, the time to think about this is now! DeepMind’s AI is Getting Closer to its First Big Real-World Application.

Think Radically: To my many clients in the construction industry, it’s time to think radically different about concrete: Moss-Growing Concrete Absorbs CO2 and is a Vertical Garden.

Think Anew: Fellow Australian futurist Ross Dawson is thinking anew about the coming decade: 2020: Prediction’s for the year’s Social Trends.

Think Sustainably: One of the world’s largest financial companies is thinking about sustainability in the future of money and investing, you should as well: A Fundamental Reshaping of Finance.

Think the Unthinkable: Can Human Mortality Be Hacked? Some people believe it will soon be possible to live to 1000. Regardless of whether you think this is wise or not, it is time for society to begin thinking about this once “unthinkable” prospect.

Want to think again? You can always revisit last week’s “Future 15”.

Until next week: Don’t stop thinking about the future! But also never forget “It is easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than think your way into a new way of acting“!
