Jack Uldrich’s “Friday Future 5:” February 12, 2021

Posted in Future, Future 15, Futurist, Think

Think: In this one-minute video, I share Lesson #1: Expect the Unexpected from my new best-selling book, Business as Unusual: A Futurist’s Unconventional, Unorthodox, and Uncomfortable Guide to Doing Business, (If you are involved in agriculture or are interested in electric vehicles, I strongly encourage you to watch the  video.)

Think Different: Last year, I wrote this article, Deeper than Roots: Fungi are the Future. This article, The Future Fungal: Why the Megascience of Mycology is on the Rise, goes a little bit deeper in why mushrooms and mycelium will play an increasing crucial role in understanding our environment as well as play an important role in the creation of a number of new technologies from building materials and sustainable food to packaging and  “artificial leather.”

Think the Unthinkable:  Do the ideas of using lab-grown wood to manufacture furniture or using light to create massive data storage centers in outer space sound unbelievable to you? If so, it is time for to think again.

Think Quick & Visually:  In this week’s “59 Seconds into the Future,” I discuss why you need to be thinking about the wide-spread deployment of satellites.

Heart-Centered Thinking: In this insightful article, John Hagel explains why emotion is the foundation of strategy. It will give you plenty to think about.

Until next week: Don’t stop thinking about the future! But also never forget “It is easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than think your way into a new way of acting!”
