Jack Uldrich’s “Friday Future 5:” July 24, 2020

Posted in Future, Future 15, Futurist

Think: Humans are hard-wired to pay more attention to skeptics and cynics, but this can often be a mistake. The future may be much better than you imagine. This uplifting article will not only make you feel good, it’ll provide you some new things to think about: The Case for Optimism: By 2030, Everything Will be so Cheap that We’ll be Able End Poverty.

Think Better: If you want to think better, you must embrace diversity–but “diversity” goes well beyond race, gender, and age. You must purposely seek-out individuals with different thinking styles as well. To do anything less puts your business or organization at risk. This is a short article with an important message: Diverse Perspectives are Key to Successful Innovation.

Think Smarter:  A colleague recently introduced me to the term “doomscrolling.” If you are like me, you probably spend too much time reading depressing news on your various social media and news platforms. One easy way to improve your thinking skills is to simply make more time for thinking–this article can assist by reducing the amount of time you spend reading depressing news.

Think Like a Futurist: This is an interesting article. It highlights the transformative power of “hypothetical thinking”–the ability to consciously think about other possibilities. Our Greatest Invention Was the Invention of Invention Itself.

Heart-Centered Thinking: A “regenerative culture” is emerging and, among other things they are hoping to go “Back to soil and soul.” As a business leader, I would encourage you to read this article because I believe it will provide you some insight into a new and powerful “generation.”

Until next week: Don’t stop thinking about the future! But also never forget “It is easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than think your way into a new way of acting“!
