Imagine a diabetic being able to grow pancreatic tissue in order produce their own insulin again. Or envision a dialysis patient growing a new kidney from their own cells. Such things are impossible today, but they could soon become a reality thanks to advances researchers at Harvard Medical School are making in the field of tissue engineering.
