Dear Readers:
The French have a wonderful saying: “You can’t get 12 months of work done in 12 months, but you can get 12 months of work done in 11 months.” As a way of putting this wisdom into practice, I am taking off the entire month of August to clear my head so I can better focus on the year ahead as well as the next phase of my life.
I intend to start the month by traveling to Lanesboro, Minnesota for a week to practice what I preach. I often tell my clients “to get into their discomfort zone” and experiment with new ideas, products, services and business models, and I intend to do the same by participating in the ninth annual production of “Audacious Raw Theater.” This year’s theme is “The Future Has an Ancient Heart.”
I do not consider myself an actor and the production has yet to be created so I am more than a bit nervous as to how this will all play out, but I am looking forward to the challenge. On a selfish note, I am hoping that by engaging different aspects of my creative nature I will come to some new insights about this idea of the future having an ancient heart.
Be well and, if you can afford to, please consider taking some time off yourself.
Cheers,
Jack
