Network_effect[1]  “The curious thing is that with these exponential changes, so much of what we currently know is just getting to be wrong. So many of our assumptions are getting to be wrong. As so, as we move forward, not only is it going to be a question of learning it is also going to be a question of unlearning.” — John Seely Brown.

Below is a 10-minute interview with John Seely Brown. I have never met the man but on the basis of some of his writings as well as this interview, I believe he is one of this country's most preeminent unlearners. His ideas about peer-based learning are spot on.

To this end, I would like to start a network of unlearners. If your interested in the idea, please drop me a note in the comment section or at jack@unlearning101.com. If you're not interested in the idea but still have something you think society should unlearn, I'd love to hear from you. And, please, don't be shy — even with your criticism. As Brown says at the end of this interview one of the better ways to become an effective unlearner is to become open to criticism.
