It would be nice to believe that “the final word” is really the final word, unfortunately it rarely is.
Michio Kaku has an interesting article on the possible discovery that the speeding neutrino might overturn Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity (and thus much of what we think we know about physics). He writes that “no scientific theory is carved in stone” and “there are no sacred cows.”
I now ask you to think about which ideas, beliefs and assumptions of yours are sacred cows or “carved in stone.” Is your idea, belief or assumption really the final word? How can you be so sure?
