Last year, I had a post entitled the future of education is short in which I explained how new business models are threatening the post-secondary educational establishment.

Today, there was an interesting article in the USA Today describing how the first two years of college are wasted on nearly 45% of all students. I remain convinced that soon motivated students and concerned parents are no longer going to tolerate skyrocketing tuitions and soaring students loans in an era where they can get a decent education online for virtually nothing.

My prediction: The rising college tuition “bubble” is going to pop very soon and when it bursts thousands of inferior professors and administrators who add nothing to a student’s education are going to be out on the street looking for new work. My second prediction: They won’t go back to school to “retrain” themselves because they either can’t afford it or they know it’s not worth the investment.
