I've always enjoyed the above quote from Steven Covey as well as the optical illusion to the right.

I was reminded of both when I came across this old post from Seth Godin in which he reminded me that "the single largest indicator of [medical] treatment wasn't symptoms or patient background, it was the background of the doctor."

Think about that for a moment. If you have a medical condition or problem, your treatment isn't necessarily going to be determined what is best for you, rather it is likely to be determined by what the doctor or healthcare provider knows best.

In other words, it behooves you to remember that even when it comes to a medical experts, the real problem could be the way they see the problem.
