Earlier today, I encouraged teachers to go on strike in support of innovation. No sooner had I posted the idea than a friend emailed me a link to a video which the Institute for Democratic Education in America has just posted to their website.
The basic message can be summed up by saying this: If we want students to think outside of the box then we need to get out of the unhealthy habit of just cramming our students — and their minds — into the rigid boxes that we call our schools today. The full 2.5 minute video is posted below. Enjoy!
