As a professional futurist, I’d say it is a great reminder that while technology changes fast, human behavior does not.

This point is worth keeping in mind with regard to another big announcement in today’s paper: the news that Facebook and Skype are teaming up to make video chat very easy.

This partnership will undoubtedly alter billions of human interactions in the coming years but it won’t eliminate the need for good old fashion non-seeing phones. (Case-in-point: I’m typing this post early in the morning (before I have showered or shaved) and, believe me, no one—if they can possibly avoid it—wants to see me in this condition.)
