Question: The seed of a tree weighs next to nothing yet the tree itself weighs quite a bit. From where does the tree get the material that makes up the wood in your desk or in your house?
Nearly 85 percent of all people answer "the ground." There is one small problem with this: it's the wrong answer. In fact, 99 percent of the material that makes a wooden chair or wooden beam comes out of the air.
I encourage you to think of this as a metaphor for wisdom. Wisdom doesn't necessarily come from soaking up more information or knowledge from experts, newspapers, magazine or even books (and I love books), it comes from experiencing the life around us and of which we are an integral part.
