Think in Questions: As you think about your future, I encourage you to spend some time thinking about questions. Specifically, what question(s) do you want to answer with your life? In my case, I have a “secular” question and a “spiritual” question. Both inform how I live my life. If you’re interested, you can read more about my questions in this post (“Live the Questions of Your Future: A Personal Journey“). However, I encourage you to contemplate, identify and, ultimately, answer your own unique questions.
Think Twice: Did you know negative stories are almost twice as likely to be shared online as positive, optimistic stories? I didn’t but this is something we should all think about. I will be the first to admit that there is no shortage of serious problems in the world, yet it is also important to understand the world is getting better in many ways. This truth, though, can often be masked by the barrage of negative stories that populate our social media feeds. My advice: Limit your social media intake and, if you must share a story, please try to make it a positive, upbeat and uplifting story. (You may not get as many “likes” but you will be playing a small role in improving the mental health of your friends–and yourself.)
Think Smarter: It should be no surprise that artificial intelligence will continue to get better in 2025. Here are four ways AI experts think it will improve in the coming year. Most interesting to me are the ideas that AI will get better at using tools (such as robots and computers) as well as being better able to understand context.
Think Bigger: Scientists appear to be on the verge of cracking the code for stable nuclear fusion energy. If this “nut” is cracked, it will be a game-changer for humanity. I will continue to watch this space but please understand that the world could be very different within 10 years if society suddenly has an unlimited source of clean, renewable, sustainable and affordable energy. We live in exciting times.
Think Visually: For those of you working in the farming industry and who prefer to receive your news in visual form, I give you this 10-minute video on the “Next Level Agricultural Machines Revolutionizing Agriculture.” From rock pickers to machines capable of efficiently harvesting broccoli, grapes and pumpkins there are some impressive machines being developed around the world.
