The World's First 3D Printed GuitarIn my latest book, Foresight 20/20: A Futurist Explores the Trends Transforming Tomorrow, I devote an entire chapter to how 3D printing will transform not only the manufacturing sector but everyday life.

To understand how rapidly 3D printing is advancing, consider just these three unrelated developments from the world of music:

1. Bloomberg News is reporting that the world’s first guitar has now been printed. (See photo to the right).
2. Yesterday, it was reported that it’s now possible to print your own headphones.
3. Check out this video of a flute being printed.

(For a more in-depth look into the future of 3D printing, I highly recommend this 2011 article from The Economist, Print Me a Stradivarius.
