Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal ran an interesting article entitled Under the Influence: How the Group Changes What We Think. It reported that one reason college-age students drink more than they should is because "they don't see the behavior of the students who aren't drinking." For example, they don't see the kids who are studying in the library or those engaged in non-drinking activities such as going to the movies.

So, if you are concerned your child may be drinking too much while away at college, you might want to encourage them to begin training themselves to see what isn't there. Not only might this skill encourage them to lead a healthier life-style, it could also prove useful in some unexpected ways
