Fotolia_3582324_S1 There is a familiar folktale that offers to the key to unlearning. The story goes like this:

There was once an old woman searching intently for something in the street. A passerby asked her, "Have you lost something?"

"Yes," she said, "I have lost some keys. I have been looking for them all evening."

"Where did you lose them," the passerby remarked.

"I don't know," responded the woman, "maybe in my house."

"Then why are you looking for them here?"

"Because it's dark in my house. I can see much better here under the street lights."

It is easy to believe that the world will be a better place if everybody else–the outside world–would just change. The much more difficult but, ultimately, more rewarding journey begins within–and changing ourselves.

The problem is that looking at ourselves is difficult because we rarely shine a light on ourselves–our beliefs, our ideas, our habits and our fears.

If, however, you are willing to do this you may not only discover some things which need to be unlearned, you could also end up finding the key to your future.
